Pickaxe

A pickaxe is created by putting a Pickaxe Head, a Tool Binding, and a Tool Rod into the Tool Station . After that you can use it like a normal pickaxe, or you can modify it in the Tool Station with modifiers found in the book "Materials and You: vol. 2".
